BJP worker assaulted in Dinhata police station, BJP condemns act and protests

Cooch Behar, June 21. A protest was held by BJP supporters condemning against the incident of brutally assaulting a BJP worker Alok Gop at the police station by the police.

The protests were held at Bhetaguri area on the way from Cooch Behar to Dinhata. BJP workers are asking the police to punish those cops who are responsible for the assault.

Due to the protest, traffic was seen in the area. It is alleged that Dinhata police arrested BJP activist Alok Gop from Bastaguri market on Monday and took him to the police station and badly assaulted him. On Tuesday, Alok Gop was presented in court, where he became unwell after getting bail.

On Wednesday, he was admitted to Government Medical College and Hospital. BJP supporters have submitted a written application to the District Magistrate requesting punishment to the accused cops, but it is alleged that no action has been taken even after this.

That is why the protest has been held today.
