Cooch Behar, June 25 : Due to the continuous rainfall on the Bhutan Mountains, the water levels have increased in Torsha river in Cooch Behar, which has led to water entering the homes of people residing in Fasirghat, Keshav Ashram, Takagach and Karishal areas in Cooch Behar.
People from these areas are now forced to leave their homes and move to another place. The representatives of the BJP’s delegation were present here today.
The BJP’s delegation, included BJP’s Cooch Behar District President Malti Rabha and Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha’s Vice President Dipankar Devi. BJP leader Malti Rabha said that, after the water levels rose in the Torsha river, water has entered in the houses of people residing in Fasirghat area adjacent to the 16th and 18th number wards of the city. She said that we are with the families of the victims. Our workers will do everything possible to help them out. The Irrigation Department is also keeping an update on this.
